Rant & Rave for July 9

“Now the Rev. Jones is an expert on sports. What’s next?”

“I remember when Cairo had all kinds of things — fireworks, watermelon cuttings at the Davis Park pool, which they have torn down, and programs and celebrations. What happened? It’s leadership.”

“It’s a shame that the people of Cairo have to travel to Thomasville, Bainbridge or Tallahassee to see fireworks. The poor people have to stay home and watch it on TV.”

“A big ‘thank you’ to the lady in the gold Yukon with the big ‘C’ on the back window who is also a ’Noles fan. I work in a drive-through and you have purchased several orders for strangers. They want you to know that they appreciate it. Pay it forward!”

“House Republicans budgeted more for the Benghazi investigation than the VA investigation. Incredible! The Republicans feel it is more important to achieve short-term political goals rather than help our distressed veterans. How callous!”

“I may not know who rants in ‘Rant and Rave,’ but  I do know they are cowards, which is why they don't want you to know who they are.”

“Our president is an anarchist and is welcoming illegal immigration? Are you ranters nuts? I will remind you that President Bush pushed for looser immigration laws in the eight years prior to President Obama's terms. If he had enforced the immigration laws as president and strengthened the borders of his own state while governor, we might not have the situation we do today. Let's be sure blame falls on proper heads.”

“If you don't like the events downtown, the brick streets and the proposed arts district, no problem. Just stay home at watch ‘Honey Boo Boo.’”

“What is a ‘true’ Christian? I could not find that in the Bible.”
