Rant & Rave for March 5

“My husband and I would like to thank the man who paid our bill at Ruby Tuesday on Saturday evening. Your generosity was very much appreciated. God bless you and your family.”

“To the writer of the letter to the editor warning against anti-science hype: Let me assure you that I reject pro-science hype as well. The global warming picture is far from clear and, in fact, many scientists still dispute the validity of its science. I particularly have problems with the statement you made, ‘Human influence on the climate system is clear.’ It is far from clear and, in fact, not even established that the temperature increase we've had is not natural.”

“Obama is proposing the ‘keep your plan’ fix be extended, again, to prevent the inevitable — more cancellations — from happening right before the next election. More unconstitutional action for purely political reasons? Who would have thought?”

“Susan Brown commentaries are ridiculous. She spends half a column detailing how the current administration is trying to cut the defense budget. Then in paragraph five, she admits that the budget needs trimming. So I guess we should allow her to decide what cuts to make? Uh, no thanks.”

“The ranter who opposes the art district and amphitheater in Thomasville is hopelessly out of touch. Our community's embrace of cultural arts and its continued dedication to a vibrant downtown are what separates us from the mainstream. Our town is a national treasure, in spite of narrow-minded bumpkins like the aforementioned ranter.”

“Obama needs to quit drawing ‘red lines’ that are really nothing more than invisible ink. They mean nothing to the rest of the world and leave our nation looking like a joke.”
