Rant & Rave for Feb. 23

“Thanks, Mark, for the citizens meeting. One thing is quite obvious. Neither party seems to know a single thing about local issues.”

“I want to thank the paint store owner who drove to my house to bring me the extra set of keys I left on his counter.”

“The Times-Enterprise should not be concerned about all the moaning about Rant and Rave, even if some credentialed person's opinion is raised to the level of 'wisdom' because they 'own' their comments. They think free speech is only free when some persons agree. Otherwise, you are uneducated, lack courage or simply don't care. The grasp of free expression and its destruction at the hands of the left is far, far more fragile than their precious environment. Perhaps your fervency could be better directed at protecting the unborn.”

“Johnny Carson's former head writer raised eyebrows with a comment in an interview that spoke volumes in one brief sentence. He said that late-night comics/talk show hosts don't make fun of Democrats because they take it personally, while Republicans just laugh at it. Same goes for Rant and Rave, I guess.”

“It is not conducive to attempt to compromise one's morals in order to agree with the majority. The majority that believes in actions and programs that are morally wrong and dishonest should not be tolerated — ever.”

“If I hear one more liberal make some impassioned plea for some animal, or against 'littering,' I am going to throw up. Fifty million people are not living because of your selective outrage! A choice? You choose to do evil in God's sight.”
