LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Perhaps it’s genetic

The caller in Wednesday's Rant & Rave overlooks, in the criticism of her column, the fact that Susan Brown cites sources for her statements. This is a typical liberal-progressive approach: attack the person and not the facts. The facts can be checked by the reader. If a writer cites references and the reader dis- agrees with the article, then the reader should check the facts.

Moving along, I can just about bet that there will be some criticism of Wednesday's column by Daniel Gardner since he dares to tread on political correctness, as it seems he does beginning in paragraph four.  The hard truth is that self-esteem cannot be bestowed. It must be earned.  We are not all equal. Some can do one thing well, while someone else can do a different thing well.

Now I'll give you some info and then advance a rather radical idea.

As many of us know, there is a personality type known as introvert and another known as extrovert. Both types are genetic. Both are normal.

The introvert generates his or her own mental energy. Apparently it's just there. The extrovert generates mental energy by interacting with others, blah blah etc.

This can all be checked on a search engine. The information has been around for several years. Also, look for introvert-extrovert brain scan to see what a university has done to demonstrate this info.

Now, since there are different personality types with different characteristics (no, we're not all created equal), has any research been done to investigate differences between conservatives and liberal-progressives? If not, why not?

Just as introvert-extrovert brains are hard-wired differently, so perhaps are the brains of conservatives and liberals. Might be interesting to know. Liberals might have to get off the moral high ground as they can't help being the way they are, and conservatives can't help being practical to the extreme.
