THOMASVILLE — Thomasville High’s spring football game, scheduled for Friday, was postponed until today because of inclement weather.
Thomasville was hit with an abundance of rain early Friday and then into the afternoon, forcing coach Richie Marsh to postpone the game.
It also didn’t help Thomasville that its stadium, Veterans Memorial Stadium, is currently being renovated. Construction work is currently under way on the wall at the base of the stands. Combined with the steady rainfall received Friday, the playing conditions would not have been ideal.
“With the field in that construction, it’s all muddy,” Marsh said.
The spring game will start today at 7 p.m.
Marsh said it will consist of six 15-20 minute segments with the game will last approximately an hour and a half.
A pre-game meal will be served at 5 p.m for all Bulldogs fans. The cost for the Bar-B-Q dinner is $10, which covers a meal and a t-shirt. Former Thomasville assistant and Cairo coach Warren Field will be the guest speaker.
