Thomasville Titans update



SATURDAY

LEESBURG — The Thomasville Titans beat Albany Dixie Red 4-3 in the opening round of the District 5 12-and-Under Major Tournament.

Starting on the mound for the Titans was Hunter Donalson, who worked five innings with six strikeouts and no walks.

Leading the way at the plate for the Titans was Alex Dukes, who swatted two homers.

SUNDAY

LEESBURG — In a marathon game that lasted more than five hours, including two one-hour rain delays, the Titans lost to Lee County National 12-11 in seven innings.

After being behind much of the game, the Lee County scored four runs each in the fourth and fifth innings to take a 10-5 lead.

In the sixth frame, Thomasville plated six runs to reclaim the lead. Highlighting the rally was Hunter Donalson (a two- run homer) and Timothy Clay (a three-run homer).

However, Lee County added a solo blast to tie the game 11-11 and pushed across a run in the seventh to win.

MONDAY

LEESBURG — In an elimination game, the Titans stayed alive by beating Albany Dixie Blue 11- 10.

Leading the way on the mound was Aulston Moore, who pitched four solid innings to get the win.

After being down 5-0 at the end of three frames, Thomasville came back to tie in the fourth 5-5.

However, Albany took the lead back 10-5 going into the bottom of the fifth when Thomasville exploded for six runs.

Leading the way at the plate was Clay (two hits). Oren King, Dukes, Donalson and Erikk Avalis each added one hit.
