Central splits wrestling matches

THOMASVILLE — Thomas County Central’s wrestling team split during a three-team meet at Central on Tuesday.

Central edged Turner County 41-40 but lost to Lee County 58-24.

The Yellow Jackets’ winners include William Wilhelm by disqualification (106-pound weight class), Noah Hobbs by forfeit (113), Colin Sharpe by pinfall (160), Eli Webb by forfeit (170), Austin Groover by forfeit (182), Weston Groover by forfeit (220) and Stevan Thornton by forfeit (285).

Central’s winners against Lee County were Wilhelm by pinfall, Noah Harnevious by forfeit (195), Weston Groover by pinfall and Thornton by pinfall.

Brookwood hoops teams lose to Deerfield-Windsor

THOMASVILLE — Brookwood’s basketball teams dropped a pair of games to Deerfield-Windsor on Tuesday. Brookwood’s boys lost 61-35. Brad Kinni led the Warriors with 12 points. Rand Malone added 10 for Brookwood. Brookwood’s girls lost a nailbiter 32-29. Peyton Patterson paced the Lady Warriors with 12 points. Madeleine Harrer scored six for Brookwood.
