Brookwood’s Piazza tapped for double coaching duty

Clint Thompson

THOMASVILLE — Brad Piazza has served several roles during his basketball coaching tenure at Brookwood.

Piazza has led the girls team. He has led the boys team. In one season, he directed both.

It's double-duty time again for Piazza  as the longtime boys coach will lead the Lady Warriors this year.

“It's a challenge,” Piazza said. “You've got two totally different methods of preparing, I guess. We're running the same offenses and the same defenses. The girls are a little bit behind because I've had the guys for so long, they pretty much know what to expect. The girls, it's a new learning experience for them.”

Piazza is in this position following the departure of former girls coach Chris Seay, now an assistant football coach at Thomas County Central High School. After a long search that failed to net a replacement, Brookwood turned to Piazza to coach both teams this year, a task he assumed in 2004.
