Yellow Jackets hold dual wrestling meet

THOMASVILLE — Thomas County Central held a dual wrestling meet against Berrien and Cairo on Tuesday.

Central beat Cairo 42-39 and tied Berrien 42-42.

Against the Syrupmakers, the Yellow Jackets’ winners were Noah Hobbs by forfeit (113-pound weight class), Jeremy Belle pinned Luke Elkins (138), Hudson Prevatt pinned Reggie Burden (145), Hunter McElreath pinned Darby Nichols (152), Colin Sharpe pinned Johnathon Burdick (160), Josh Dorsey pinned Jackson Lewis (195) and James Nelson by forfeit (220).

Cairo’s winners against Central include Harley Ponder, who pinned William Wilhelm (106), Ryan Roberson pinned Jordan Hurst (120), Mateo Francisco pinned David Kindred (126), Wilder Elliott pinned Ryan Norris (132), Paul Coleman pinned Treivon Rollins (170), Marcus Gaines pinned Omar Gonzalez (182) and Maurice Gaines pinned Hunter Harrison (285).

Against Berrien, Central’s winners were Wilhelm by foreit, Jordan Hurst by forfeit, Belle by pin, Eli Webb by forfeit (160), Garrett Whitfield by forfeit (170), Neil Williams by pin (220) and Stevan Thornton by pin (285).
