— Thomas University senior forward Justyn Watkins was named to the Sun Conference First Team and was also named the league's Newcomer of the Year Saturday evening at the Final Four Banquet in Miami Gardens, Fla.

Watkins led the Night Hawks and the TSC in scoring, averaging 23.59 points per a game. His scoring average ranks in the top 10 for NAIA Division II.

A native of Altamonte Springs, Fla., Watkins has been a major factor every time he has taken the floor for Thomas University, helping to lead the first-year program to a winning record and a berth in Monday’s tournament semifinals after upsetting the NAIA No. 20 Embry-Riddle University Eagles Saturday.

Watkins was named TSC Player of Week for the week of Feb. 3-9 after dropping 31 points on then No. 6 Embry-Riddle for the first win over a Top 25 program in the new era of TU basketball. He has scored 30 or more points in 10 of his 27 games and at least 20 points in 19 games. He is the first Night Hawks basketball player to receive all-conference Honors.

Thomas University sophomore center Andre Robinson was named to the TSC All-Defensive Team. The native of Havana, Fla. leads TU in rebounds, averaging 8.6 per game.

Freshman guard Travis Williams was named to the TSC All-Academic Team. To be eligible for the Academic All-Conference, a student-athlete must have completed one full academic year at the league institution and have a 3.5 or better grade point average.
