Brookwood baseball scores 21 in season opener

No, it was not a spring football game.

The Brookwood Warriors baseball team thumped Sherwood, 21-1, in five innings in Tuesday’s season opener.

Brookwood’s strength stemmed from both sides of the plate. Its three pitchers on Tuesday – Jordan Bradshaw, Peyton Latmore, and Bradley Clark – also were its most productive from the plate.

Latmore threw two innings and four strikeouts while also going three-for-four with two doubles from the plate.

Clark pitched an inning and went three-for-four.

Bradshaw threw for two innings and four strikeouts while also notching a hit.

Tyler Thompson was another reliable cog, and hit two-for-four.

By the late stages when things got out of hand, Sherwood ran out of pitchers.

“It’s a really good start for us,” coach Ken Johnson said. “I was really pleased with both our offense and defense tonight.”

Brookwood hosts Munroe on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
