TU’s Spengler honored with Champions of Character Award

— Carina Spengler, a Thomas University senior midfielder from Boeblingen, Germany, was honored with the Champions of Character award for The Sun Conference in women’s soccer Thursday afternoon. The Champions of Character award is given out to one student-athlete in each sport that exhibits extraordinary character on and off the field. The Five Core Values for the NAIA COC are integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership. Not only does she have each of these values but she excels in all of these areas.

Spengler, who has a 4.0 GPA while majoring in business administration, led the Night Hawks in offense this season with 18 goals, and is a Member of the Leadership team for Goalline Ministries. The community service that she is involved in includes Disciple Now Thomasville, FCA events at Thomas county Central High School, and Hands on Thomas County.

The Night Hawks were 11-6 overall and 7-2 in conference winning their first ever post season game in TSC.
