LOS ANGELES —
Harris English is playing in his sixth straight tournament this week at famed Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles.
He is coming off some challenging rounds up the coast at Pebble Beach where he missed the cut at the AT&T National Pro-Am.
The winner that week was English’s fellow Sea Island resident Brandt Snedeker.
English plays in his first Northern Trust Open at Riviera, a place nicknamed “Hogan’s Alley” after late golfing legend Ben Hogan.
Although he has struggled during parts of this opening West Coast swing, fellow Georgia alum Russell Henley sees impressive potential in his peer.
“I’ve been playing with him since I was about 11 and I don’t think there’s anybody more mentally tough than him,” Henley said. “I don’t think there’s anybody who physically has more game than him.”
