MOBILE, Ala. —
The Night Hawks mustered just seven hits in the 3-2 and 9-3 defeats after scoring a combined 12 runs in Saturday’s wins at Webber International.
Thomas jumped to a 2-1 lead in Game 1 before the Badgers responded with a pair of one-run outings in the fifth and sixth innings to take the lead.
“We had opportunities and didn’t get it done,” Lee said. “They were giving us help and we weren’t doing our part.”
Thomas dug itself into a 7-0 deficit through the first two innings and couldn’t rally late.
Thomas also allowed its first home run of the season.
“We had no pitching to start the second game,” Lee said. “And the way we were swinging, you just can’t come back from that. When you know you’re not swinging the bat well and struggling offensively, it makes it near impossible to rally.”
The Night Hawks make a much anticipated return home this weekend after a three-week road outing.
