— For the second straight year, Thomas County‚ÄąCentral will be represented in the Georgia Junior Bowl.

After quarterback Adam Choice played in the game, which is run by RisingSeniors.com — founded by former Central great Joe Burns and Izell Reese, a year ago, Yellow Jackets defensive end Austin Bryant has been selected for the 2013 game to be played at 1 p.m. Dec. 31 at Grady Stadium.

Bryant, a 6-foot-3, 242-pound junior, was part of Central’s talented defensive line and finished the 2013 season with 64 tackles — nine for loss — five sacks and 13 quarterback pressures. Bryant also forced three fumbles and recovered two.

The four-star prospect reportedly has offers from No. 1 Florida State and Georgia Tech as well as Auburn, Kentucky, Ole Miss and Vanderbilt. Clemson and North Carolina State have also offered, as has Notre Dame.

Joining Bryant on the West team at the Junior Bowl will be Valdosta cornerback Josh Norwood and Westover defensive tackle Trenton Thompson, who is a five-star top-10 national recruit and the No. 2 prospect in the state. Lowndes linebacker Brian Bell and Coffee guard Cole Minshew are on the East team.

Other area players to have previously played in the game, which began in 2010, include Thomasville’s Mario Mathis and Cairo’s P.J. Davis in 2011, and Cairo’s Terrell Cason and T.J. Gurley in the inaugural game.
