The scoreboard didn’t adequately reflect the entire truth about Friday night’s game at Veterans Memorial Stadium
The Thomasville Bulldogs’ 24-14 loss displayed in bright lights contrasted greatly with head coach Leroy Ryals’ dark mood.
“To be honest, they outcoached and they outplayed us for 48 minutes — and that’s it,” Ryals said after his team fell to the Westminster Wildcats. “You can’t point to one place in particular. We made a lot of mistakes, and they played with more energy and effort than we did.
“To me, that’s the most disappointing thing. We’ve to learn to play hard regardless of our set of circumstances. We have got to learn how to do that.”
The Class AA No. 10 Bulldogs (2-2) endured a rocky start. They fell behind in the second period when a snap sailed over punter Lucas Harren’s head and out of the end zone for a safety.
