Before Thomasville begins to worry about the tough foes ahead like Cook and Brooks County and the rest of Region 1-AA, the Bulldogs are facing an even bigger opponent — themselves.
As the Bulldogs enjoy an open week this week to prepare for the start of region play a week from today when Cook visits Veterans Memorial Stadium, they aren’t showing the sense of urgency that coach Leroy Ryals desires. The 2-2 Bulldogs also aren’t making the improvements necessary to fight through the grind through a tough division.
“We’re struggling,” Ryals said. “We’re struggling to overcome ourselves. We have to overcome ourselves. We have to overcome what’s happened in the past, overcome the stigma, overcome any kind of negativity that was had in the past.
“We have to overcome and just work on the things we need to work on.”
