Thomasville was dealt its first Region 1-AA loss of the season Friday night.
If the Bulldogs are to avoid a losing streak in region play, they’ll have to overcome a familiar foe.
Thomasville will look to rebound from Friday’s 30-23 loss to Brooks County when it travels next week to Nashville to play the Berrien Rebels and first-year coach Ed Pilcher. Thomasville has a long history with Pilcher who coached against the Bulldogs annually when he established Thomas County Central as a state power in the early 90s. Pilcher owns a 10-3 record against the Bulldogs during his time on the Central sideline from 1991-2007. Pilcher moved to Bainbridge following the ‘07 season.
However, Pilcher is coaching a team that’s had zero success against Thomasville. The Bulldogs are 18-0-1 against the Rebels in a series dating back to 1960.
