Ready for Cairo

THOMASVILLE — Once a Bulldog, always a Bulldog for Jeremy Rayburn.

Rayburn, who attended Thomasville High School and coached under Tommy Welch with the Bulldogs, is a Bulldog of a different breed now. He is the offensive coordinator at Mary Persons and has a chance to help end the season of one of Thomasville's fiercest rivals, Cairo.

“We're excited to be here,” Rayburn said. “We've played pretty hard and had some close games. It's exciting to be playing on Thanksgiving (week). It's the first time since I've been coaching. This is my 11th year. To actually be playing on Thanksgiving as a coach, that's exciting. It's a big week.

“Anytime you're playing Cairo at this point of time in the year, you've had a pretty successful season. We're looking forward to heading that way and see what can happen.”
