A murder trial scheduled for this week has been continued until 2013.
The defendant, Xavier Rashard Jones, is charged with murder and armed robbery in the summer 2010 death of a 15-year-old Florida boy visiting his father here.
Jones, 19, was to have gone on trial Monday in Thomas County Superior Court.
He is charged with shooting Christopher Crumbry Jr. in the head in the 800 block of Fletcher Street about 11:20 p.m. in late July 2010.
Judge James E. “Jim” Hardy continued the trial until Feb. 11, 2013.
The trial was continued after an unexpected medical condition prevented the defense attorney, Greg Wolinski, of Hahira, from trying the case this week.
Jones remains in custody. He is being held at a jail in another county.
Two other suspects in the case — Dezmond Lamar Lovejoy, 23, Thomasville, and Jalen Rauls, 19, Meigs — also were charged with murder and armed robbery.
