TCCHS Band First

THOMASVILLE —  

The Thomas County Central High School (TCCHS) Band returned home with the gold at the end of a weekend trip to Festival Disney in Orlando, Fla.
 The TCCHS Band competed against 30 instrumental and auxiliary ensembles from as far away as New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Arizona.
The Marching Band received a superior rating, the highest rating offered in the competition, and was deemed “Best in Class.” The Marching Band also received the Gold Award for the best overall marching band in the competition.
The Dazzlers Drill Team received a superior rating in indoor color guard competition, with a perfect score given from one judge, and was deemed “Best in Class.”
 They also received the Gold Award for best overall auxiliary performance and were given a special “Outstanding Auxiliary” award for their performance during parade competition.
The Percussion Ensemble received a superior rating and was described by one judge as “the best percussion ensemble I’ve seen in a while.”
The Jazz Band received a superior rating and was given the Silver Award for placing second overall among jazz bands.
The Concert Band received an excellent rating and was named “Best in Class” in the AAA division.
The Symphonic Band received a superior rating and was deemed “Best in Class” in the AAAA division. The Symphonic Band also received a Gold Award for best overall concert band in the competition.
