Organizations combine to teach valuable lessons

THOMASVILLE — The Boys and Girls Club, in collaboration with the Thomasville YMCA and Center for the Arts, is hosting an art camp for children. The club also schedules morning and afternoon events at the Everett-Milton YMCA and Center for the Arts to teach children valuable lessons.

Campers are taught water safety at the YMCA and then introduced to different types of world art, dance and much more at the Center for the Arts.

Tom Everett, Thomasville YMCA CEO, said, “This is a great collaboration. We feel more can be accomplished with more organizations involved. It’s a win-win scenario because we’ll be able to provide kids with more opportunities together.”

Javon Pittman, 9, of Thomasville has been attending the Boys and Girls Club art camp for three years. He said, “I love having fun with the leaders. We have lots of fun in the learning center. It’s also fun coming to swim at the Y.”
