The Red Hill Players will present “Jane Eyre: the Musical” on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Thomasville Center for the Arts, 600 E. Washington St.
Actors and artists from across the region have opartnered with Thomasville Center for the Arts to form a theatre company called the Red Hills Players, who are proud to perform their debut show.
The musical is based on Charlotte Bronte’s novel Jane Eyre. It features score by Paul Gordan and is sure to take the audience on a journey of self discovery and redemption.
Today, the public is invited to preview the dress rehearsal. The Red Hills Players have a special interest in Thomasville’s students and believe that every young aspiring actor should have the opportunity to participate in the arts.
Proceeds from “Jane Eyre: The Musical” will be equally vested in youth programs at the Center for the Arts and in Thomasville On Stage and Company’s Ron Shank Endowment Fund, a memorial fund whose funds finance the operational needs of TOSAC’s historic storefront theater in downtown Thomasville. The group will also be reprising a portion of “Jane Eyre: The Musical” in January for local high schools as part of the Center for the Arts’ ARTReach program beginning in January.
Clay Byars, president of Thomasville on Stage and Company is excited about upcoming events.
“TOSAC is humbled and very happy to receive donations to the Ron Shank Endowment Fund. The funds will help greatly with this year’s planned renovations to the theater,” he said.
The tickets are selling fast for the show this weekend. Tickets are priced at $10, with additional donations welcome.
