Drugs, firearm seized in Pavo drug bust


Cocaine, marijuana and loaded firearms do not mix, but such was the mixture encountered by lawmen Thursday night in Pavo.

Valdosta men were to deliver powder cocaine to a Pavo business. Thomas County/Thomasville Narcotics/Vice Division agents set up surveillance — on foot and in vehicles — on the business.

Officers were looking for a man by the name of Jay, who would be traveling in a champagne-colored Mercury Marquis with after-market tires and rims.

The suspect, Justin Javon Nickson, 24, 1409 Southwood Drive, Valdosta, also known as Jay and J.J., was a passenger in the car.
