Grandmother turns in suspect

THOMASVILLE — A Quitman man’s grandmother heard her grandson was a suspect in a Boston home invasion and notified authorities.

Sean Sebastian Ghee’s grandmother contacted police in Quitman, where she lives. Quitman police contacted the Thomas County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division.

Ghee, 20, 1408 S. Madison St., was wanted in a Boston home invasion on Thursday, Jan. 10.

Sheriff’s office investigators arrested Ghee at the grandmother’s residence.

“We tried to talk to him, but he didn’t give us any helpful information,” said investigator Wally Van Heiningen.

A group of people entered the residence and took cell phones, beer, coolers, change and a machete.

A man who lives the residence was beaten with a firearm and suffered facial injuries.

Ghee remains behind bars at the Thomas County Jail charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault and kidnapping.

Three others have been charged in the incident. Another suspect, Tony Eugene Staten 21, 1003 N. Culpepper St., Quitman, remains at large.

Anyone with information about Staten should call Crimestoppers at 227-3305.
