Marria has a message to deliver

THOMASVILLE — Andre’ Marria has an important message that she will deliver through songs, poems and stories at the Thomasville Center for the Arts.

Entitled “Songs I Couldn’t Sing,” Marria’s message is appropriate for general audiences. She is counting on children benefiting from it the most, however.

“I encourage adults to bring a kid,” said Marria, adding that The Vashti Center and other groups have purchased multiple tickets for the show. “It’s about my life, overcoming obstacles and being successful. This is to help children become aware of who there are.”

Marria, a Thomasville native, has a passion for children. She spent the bulk of her adult life as a mental health counselor, working for various public and private agencies — including the Department of Family and Children’s Services, and the Sycamore Center.

After spending more than three decades in the mental health field, she is keenly aware of children’s needs and wants.
