THOMASVILLE — A Coolidge man who served a federal prison term in a drug conviction is back in trouble with the law, according to the local narcotics/vice chief.

Thomas County/Thomasville Narcotics/Vice Division officers learned Lamont Burkes, 32, 15828 Highway 188, Coolidge, would have marijuana for sale at Glenwood Drive and Pinetree Boulevard.

Agents in an undercover vehicle saw the suspect in the driver’s seat of a vehicle at the site and found a bag of marijuana in his possession.

“We also seized over $1,000 in U.S. currency from his pocket,” said Kevin Lee, narcotics/vice commander.

Burkes is charged with marijuana possession with intent to distribute.
