These two young men knocking at the door aren’t trying to sell you something. They are trying to give a glimpse of something they hold dear to their hearts.
Elder Alex Forsyth, 20, and Elder Tyler Purdy, 21, are two local Mormon missionaries. Forsyth has spent the past six months in Thomasville. Purdy has been here nearly a year.
The two are a part of a two-year mission trip as recommended by their religion. As part of the Mormon religion, 18 and 19 year olds typically plan to serve in missions to share the gospel.
When Forsyth turned 18, he spent a year in college and didn’t attend church often. He decided to reevaluate his life, began hanging out with a new group of friends and decided to serve the Lord.
