Non-profit organizations plans 'No Bullying Day'

THOMASVILLE — Facebook, Twitter and other social media allow bullying to continue after the school bell rings.

Cyberbullying is the latest form of bullying tormenting kids. Rico Walker, executive director of Relief From the Streets Inc., wants to stop all forms of bullying in Thomas County.

“I have a passion to stop bullying,” Walker said. “It’s in my heart to help kids.”

On Saturday, Feb. 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Relief From the Streets Inc. will be hosting its inaugural “No Bullying Day.” Relief From the Streets Inc. is a non-profit organization in Thomas County that helps children from age eight to 17.

“We want people to come out and show their support to keep bullying out of our schools and our communities,” Walker said.

“No Bullying Day” will be held at Big Lots on Jackson Street. Free hot dogs will be available and event T-shirts will be sold.

See Saturday's edition for more details.
