Help brain by taking 10,000 daily steps

Staff report

THOMASVILLE — Taking 10,000 steps daily is one of the best things you can do for your brain, according to Dr. Neill Graff-Radford, principal investigator for the Mayo Clinic Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center in Jacksonville, Fla.

More than 150 people attended Dr. Graff-Radford's lecture entitled “An Update on Alzheimer's” at The Plaza Restaurant recently. It was  presented by the South Georgia Region of the Alzheimer's Association, Georgia Chapter.

Many of those attending signed up as advocates for those with Alzheimer's disease and asked to participate in the Alzheimer's Association TrialMatch program, matching volunteers with potential research studies.
