THOMASVILLE — Narcotics agents found a man they were looking for in Barwick sitting in his truck holding a marijuana cigar.

Officers were told two men traveling in a Ford Ranger would have marijuana and cocaine for sale on Janie Brooks Street in Barwick.

When agents found the vehicle, Corey Vishun Davis was sitting in the driver’s seat with the door open and his feet on the ground.

“He was sitting there with a marijuana cigar in his hand,” said Kevin Lee, Thomas County/Thomasville Narcotics/Vice Division commander.

Davis, 24, 472 Dixie-Barwick Highway, Barwick, was taken into custody. In his pockets agents found two small bags of marijuana and numerous pieces of crack cocaine in a plastic container.

Several bags of marijuana were found on Sammie Trey Roberts, 33, 1032 Stratford Circle, Barwick, a passenger in the Ranger.

Davis is charged with marijuana possession with intent to distribute and drug possession within 1,000 feet of a park.

Lee said the narcotics division has received information about several individuals selling cocaine and marijuana in Barwick.

“It’s an isolated place, where many times the drug users and sellers know each other,” he explained.

Narcotics agents will continue to monitor Barwick for drug activity, the commander said.
