The Auxiliary at Archbold Memorial Hospital is seeking applicants for scholarships given annually to deserving students enrolled in a medical-related field of study.
Two different scholarship opportunities are available this year.
The statewide Elizabeth Wilmot Bull Memorial Scholarship is for applicants pursuing a health-related degree at an accredited college, university or health-related technical school in Georgia. The scholarship requires applicants to be at least a sophomore in college and have a minimum 3.0 grade point average. Each applicant must also provide an official transcript from the school they attend, two letters of reference and a personal narrative related to their occupational choice and goals. Applications for this scholarship are due February 10, 2014.
The Archbold Auxiliary will also be accepting applications for its own Auxiliary Scholarship, which is given annually to area students seeking a career in healthcare. Scholarships are funded through Archbold Gift Shop sales as well as from memorials received by the Auxiliary in memory of a former Auxiliary member or friend. Those receiving scholarships in 2013 are asked to reapply to be considered for 2014. New applicants and current recipients of the scholarship may pick up an application at the Information Desk and must return the competed applications by March 1.
“We encourage all students seeking a degree in a medical-related field to apply for these scholarships,” said Archbold Auxilian Marlene Patterson, chairman of the scholarship committee. “All new applicants will be interviewed by the Archbold Auxiliary Scholarship Committee, and the committee will recommend students for scholarship consideration.”
