CAIRO — At Tuesday’s Grady County Board of Commissioner’s meeting, the Grady County Lake Authority unanimously recommended to the board that it authorize the process of negotiating, purchasing and building of the right-of-way to access Tired Creek Lake.

During the meeting, Stacy Watkins, a consulting engineer with Watkins and Associates, presented the board with a proposal to begin the construction of the right-of-way for Tired Creek Lake Road.

Watkins said, “We’ve already done some preliminary surveying out there already. What we’ll do is go out there and draw property lines down to locate the utilities over there and bring back a conceptual plan to present to the committee to show that the aid of a right-of-way would work versus a 60-foot right-of-way depending on what kinds of physical restraints we might have out there.”

The length of the road would be from Old Hwy. 84 to south of the construction site. It would be about a mile in length.

Chairman TD David said, “We have to do this, so there is no reason not to go ahead and start it.”

The board voted for Watkins to begin negotiations for the right-of-way for Tired Creek Road building.
