Ceremony to mark opening of art installation

THOMASVILLE — The public is invited to attend a special ceremony to commemorate the first of a series of outdoor public art installations. The Art in Public Places ceremony will take place Saturday at 10 a.m. at the corner of Broad Street and Remington Avenue.

The art installation will officially kick off during the ceremony with several speakers, including Mayor Max Beverly. As reported in a previously Times-Enterprise article, five planters will be placed along the Remington Avenue sidewalk between Broad Street and Madison Street while artists design beautiful mosaics.

Artists Cindy Inman, Sarah Coakley, Mimi Bertolet, Marty Haythor, and Lindajo Haythorn, the Thomasville Center for the Arts, the City of Thomasville and Downtown Thomasville Inc. are parterning for this momentous event.
