Rattlesnake Roundup Saturday

Staff report

WHIGHAM — Wildlife enthusiasts from far and wide can experience a slithering adventure Saturday at the 53rd annual Whigham Rattlesnake Roundup.

Nearly 150 vendors will be present for the event.

“We have 126 arts and crafts vendors, and 12 food vendors,” said Jeff Worsham, vendor coordinator. “We also have and eight vendors who have kids attractions with anything from water roller rides to spider mountains, mechanical bull or inflatables”

This year, the Whigham Rattlesnake Roundup is incorporating a new attraction — a 300 foot zip line.

Even pony rides and train rides will be available for guests.

“I think the Whigham Rattlesnake Roundup is a wonderful way to promote one of our many assets in Grady County and to support our friends and neighbors in the Whigham Community,” Scott Higginbotham said. “The Whigham Community Club is proud to put this event on each year, and they do an excellent job. They represent themselves in an outstanding manner.”

Worsham added, “We have a good weather forecast for Saturday’s event and look for a large turnout.”
