Taste of Thomasville delights group

THOMASVILLE — Hungry participants tickled their taste buds with tantalizing treats at the Taste of Thomasville on Friday. The three hour progressive food tour took eight guests through six popular restaurants downtown.

The first stop was Jonah’s Fish & Grits. With two tables combined in the right side of the restaurant, waiters served Jonah’s signature shrimp and grits, along with hushpuppies.

At Grassroots, the foodies sipped the coffee of the week, “Bean Me Up.” The Central and South American blend featured a smooth, floral and chocolately taste.

On their way to learn a quick history of WPAX and Saint Thomas Episcopal Church, offered by Debra Smith and Debbie Godbehere, guests mingled and discussed the first two stops while getting to know each other.

“I’m really glad we came on this tour,” Godbehere said. “It’s a great way to learn more about Thomasville and to taste a variety of food.”
