Boston Baptist VBS

From Monday, June 24, through Friday, June 28, Boston Baptist Church will conduct Vacation Bible School for children ages 2 to 12. Each night from 6:30 to 8:30, children will participate in activities, crafts, games, lessons, music and more.

Boston Community Club

Boston Community Club will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday, June 18, at the Community Club Center on Main Street at 7:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to help plan for the 2013 Mini-Marathon Festival, which will be on Saturday, Oct. 26.

Fun Day in the Park Camp

The Fun Day in the Park Camp for children and adults with disabilities was a success. Eloise Wells said all participants enjoyed the camp.

The Boston Police K-9 unit and campers got to know each other.

Salon owner attends event

Southern Bella Salon owner Ashley Prevatt recently attended the Premier Orlando International Beauty Event where she participated in classes to learn new techniques and the latest trends to share with her clients. Prevatt has attended the International Beauty Event for several years and enjoys meeting with other business owners throughout the United States.

City council members

Boston City Council members are Mayor Danny Groover, Edward Jones, Richard Reynolds, Michael Edwards, Robbie West and David Plymale. The council meets the second Monday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall.


Thomas County’s first Stars and Stripes 6K (3.72 mile) Patriot Walk/Run will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at Myrtlewood Plantation in Thomasville. The walk/run is being held to honor past and present patriots of the area and in support of the Senior Chief David “Blake” McLendon Scholarship Fund.
