Bond denied in roommate stabbing

THOMASVILLE — Bond was denied for a 27-year-old Thomas County man charged with stabbing his roommate.

The suspect, Keith Dale Short, 1525 Summerhill Road, remains in the Thomas County Jail charged with aggravated assault.

Short and his 29-year-old victim argued Sunday night. A Thomas County Sheriff’s Office deputy who responded to the altercation found no evidence of physical violence or probable cause for an arrest, said Capt. Steven Jones, sheriff’s office public information officer.

“The parties were separated, and one of the parties left the residence for the evening,” Jones said.

Short left the Summerhill Road residence, returned about 4 a.m. Monday, and another altercation took place.

According to Jones, Short stabbed the roommate several times with a knife. The victim went to neighbor’s house, then to another residence.

He was transported to Archbold Memorial Hospital from the second residence.

Jones said the victim was unconscious when he arrived at the hospital emergency room and was later moved to the intensive care unit.

The victim, who remains hospitalized, is not longer in intensive care.
