The home of Gary Johnson and his wife, Dorris Hill, is still an inviting place. They remain determined to help others despite being the victims of a scary home invasion on Nov. 2.
Johnson and Hill weren’t sure that they would service the incident that featured a couple of men with automatic weapons. Their ministry, Brotherhood of Love Inc., continues, however, and they open their home to those in need by supplying them with food and necessities.
On Christmas day, Johnson opened his heart and home again. He spent the last few weeks accepting donations from all over south Georgia to help the homeless or needy indulge in a Christmas dinner, free toys, clothes and shoes. He even got Santa Claus make a jolly appearance.
“There are so many kids who are lost to the streets, to drugs and to gangs,” Johnson said. “I just wanted to show them that there is a better way of life as long as you have faith in God.”
