‘Duck Dynasty’ Robertsons to host Grace Christian event

THOMASVILLE — Jase and Missy Robertson of A&E's “Duck Dynasty” will host a Grace Christian Academy inaugural event in September.

The Foundation Board of Grace Christian Academy announced an event called The Follow. The name is inspired by Matthew 16:24: "If anyone wants to be a follower of mine, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me."

The Robertsons will host the event at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 8, at Bainbridge State College Student Wellness Center, 2500 E. Shotwell St., in Bainbridge.

Tickets, which went on sale Wednesday, can be purchased only through at

After marrying Jase at age 19, Missy Robertson is raising another generation of Robertsons. She learned early she would have to step up her game.

Robertson was not raised in a large family, but fitting into the Robertson lifestyle became an easy transition, especially with help from Miss Kay.

She also learned that being a Robertson meant helping with the family business. However, after working for Duck Commander for many years, she is now able to devote much of her time to her passion of vocal music, singing and volunteering as a music teacher at her children's school.

She also handles her family's many activities and tries her best to keep Jase in line.

Missy and Jase have been married for 22 years and have three children: Reed, 17, Cole, 15, and Mia, 9.

Growing up with his father as the Duck Commander, Jase Robertson soon realized that if he wanted to spend time with him, he'd have to meet him in the blind. It soon became evident that Jase had the same passion for duck-hunting as his dad. From the age of 8, Jase spent as much time in the woods as he possibly could, even missing the maximum number of days from school each year the law would allow.

Even today, he shows the same passion and drive to meet his dad in the blind every day of duck season for one common goal — limiting out. Hunting, along with helping the family business to succeed, consumes most of Jase's time.

Aside from his current role as a duckman in the Duck Commander DVD series and "Duck Dynasty," he runs the manufacturing part of Duck Commander, ensuring every call is hand-tuned, in large part by himself.

Jase, Missy and their children live in West Monroe, La.
