League donates gifts to Salvation Army

THOMASVILLE — The Thomasville Junior Service League donated Christmas presents to the Salvation Army Angel program at its meeting Tuesday.

Capt. Christina Taylor,  corps officer at the Thomasville Salvation Army, was on hand to collect the presents.

Each member purchased gifts for a child, providing Christmas gifts to nearly 50 children.  JSL also donated 25 bicycles to the Treehouse: Childrens Advocacy Center’s Giving Tree Program.  This is one of the many philanthropy projects the Junior Service League is involved in. 

JSL members are also holding its third annual Red Nose Run 5k and half marathon on Saturday,  beginning at Thomas University.

With more than 400 individuals registered for the run, it’s not too late to sign-up.

Registration continues from now until the day of the race at 7 a.m. Registration forms may be turned in at TNB Financial Services during the day as well as during Victorian Christmas.

For those that have pre-registered, early packet pick-up is at TNB Financial Services is today and Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.  

All proceeds from the Red Nose Run will directly benefit the children in Thomasville and Thomas County.

Last year, TJSL donated over $23,000 to various organizations around Thomas County that help support local children, including children in the Thomas County and Thomasville School systems.
