Roddenbery Memorial Library to host Art Innovators

CAIRO — By definition, an art innovator is a person who introduces new methods, ideas or products in art.

Starting Tuesday and continuing every fourth Tuesday of each month, the Roddenbery Memorial Library in Cairo will host art innovator classes for adults and teens at 4 p.m.

Zerric Clinton will help those who attend tap into their imagination and create art. The Art Innovators will assist in the creative and expressive mindset of individuals.

Pamela Grigg, the library director said, “It is a fun, unique and confidence-building art experience. Art Innovators enhances a person’s experience of art. People have great need to express themselves in many ways — artistically, emotionally, physically and spiritually. This program impacts each and every area of expression.”

The non-competitive environment allows people to focus on what they are doing and enjoy it. There is an immediate result as their art work enthusiasm increases, they get to take home their creations each month.

Grigg added, “Art Innovators impacts the lives by sparking the creative process in other areas as well. It reaches the artistic individual as well as those who never thought they could draw or create works of art.”

The library strives to foster a community of innovators by providing an environment in terms of people, materials and space that supports the creative process and personal expression. With Clinton and the help of a growing community of innovators, it is possible for each person to produce many types of artistic creations.

Clinton remarked, “Art enhances our lives since it allows us to express ourselves and enjoy the world of art.”

For those who think they are innovators or  who are curious about art, join the library today at 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. to learn about art innovation. More information can be obtained by calling (229) 377-3632 or e-mail
