Johnson, Campbell graduate from recruit training

— This  month two local youths graduated from the recruit training program.

PFC Jeremiah Johnson, the son of Savaria Johnson of Thomasville, who  enlisted into the United States Marine Corps on Feb. 18, 2013, completed recruit training at Marines Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, S.C. and graduated Jan.10.

Pvt. Brooke Campbell, the daughter of Jerome and Johnna Barnes of Coolidge, also enlisted into the United States Marines Corps on Feb. 18, 2013 and completed and graduated recruit training at Marines Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, S.C. on Jan. 10.

During recruit training, Johnson and Campbell learned military customs and courtesies, first aid and a variety of military related subjects. Marine Corps “boot camp” is a rigorous training period, both physically and mentally, designed to enhance raw talent and create the moral discipline required of all Marines.

Johnson from Thomas County High School and Campbell of Thomas County Central High School, were both enlisted by Sgt. Rich from Recruiting Substation Tallahassee located at 2020-80 W. Pensacola St., Tallahassee, Fla., 32304.
