Internationally renowned pianist Kern set to perform here April 2

THOMASVILLE —  In a return engagement especially for Thomasville Entertainment Foundation’s 75th Anniversary Season, Olga Kern will grace the stage of the Thomasville Center for the Arts Tuesday, April 2 at 8 p.m.

Recognized as one of her generation’s great pianists, Kern was a gold-medalist at the 2001 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. Since that time, she has performed globally, appearing in recitals and as soloist with symphony orchestras.

Kern’s 2012-13 season schedule includes performances in the U.S. with the symphonies of Nashville, Pittsburgh, Detroi, and San Diego, and the Oklahoma City Philharmonic. Her recital performances take her to New York’s Lincoln Center, and to audiences in St. Louis, Dallas, Scottsdale, and, now, Thomasville!

“When the program committee began considering artists for the current season, we immediately remembered Kern’s fantastic performance in January 2006” stated Anniversary Committee Chairman John Glenn. “We are thrilled that she is returning for our special 75th series!”

See Tuesday's edition for more details.
