DAR presents medal to Landmarks’ Runyon

THOMASVILLE — Brent Runyon, executive director of Thomasville Landmarks Inc., received the Historic Preservation Medal on March 20. The Thomasville Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution nominated Runyon in September 2012.

Two months later, the members were notified that Runyon had been approved for the prestigious honor.

"His work to preserve the history of Thomasville and surrounding region is a wonderful addition to the Daughters of the American Revolution goal of promoting historic preservation," National Society Daughters of the American Revolution Historic Preservation National Chairman Linda L. Withers wrote in the office congratulatory letter to the Thomasville Chapter.

Runyon is the first in Thomasville to receive the medal.
