Man sought in ‘loud’ pot case

THOMASVILLE — Narcotics agents are looking for a Thomasville man under whose bed they found a jar of “loud” marijuana.

On Thursday afternoon, Thomas County/Thomasville Narcotics/Vice Division agents executed a search warrant at 502 Grady St., home of Olan Girard Turner, after learning Turner was selling marijuana and molly, a form of ecstasy, at the house.

“We found a quantity of high-grade marijuana in his bedroom,” said Kevin Lee, narcotics/vice commander. “We also found a quantity of marijuana in the headboard in his bedroom.”

The high-grade marijuana found is known as “loud” because of its strong odor.

Although the odoriferous contraband was in a jar under the suspect’s bedroom, agents could smell it.

In a dresser drawer in the bedroom, agents found a counterfeit $20 bill.

“Be on the lookout for counterfeit money” Lee advised. “If he’s got it, there’s more of it floating around.”

The commander said Turner might have received the money in a nighttime drug transaction and not been able to see that the bill was not authentic.

Neither molly nor Turner were found at the house. Anyone knowing Turner’s wherabouts is asked to call narcotics/vice at 225-3305.

Meanwhile, Turner, 34, is charged with marijuana possession with intent to distribute and possession of counterfeit money.

Senior reporter Patti Dozier can be reached at (229) 226-2400, ext. 1820.
