THOMASVILLE — The Thomas County District 11 state Senate candidate’s plan for victory in a February runoff is no different than his campaign efforts to date.

“Our plan has not changed,” said Mike Keown, a Coolidge Republican. “We have a grass-roots organization.”

Keown received 37.37 percent of the Tuesday vote to 42.59 percent for Republican Dean Burke, a Bainbridge resident.

The runoff is Tuesday, Feb. 5.

Thomas County had three candidates in the race — Keown, Marshall Berman and Eugene McNease. Other candidates were Jeffrey Bivins, a Grady County Libertarian, and Brad Hughes, an Early County Republican.

District vote totals are:

• Berman — 132

• Bivins — 803

• Burke — 5,283

• Hughes — 969

• Keown — 4,635

• McNease — 582
