Annie opens Friday

THOMASVILLE — Under the direction of Maureen Harrer, a Brookwood School art teacher, parents and grandparents of Brookwood’s student performers have worked long hours painting the sets for “Annie,” the musical. The show is onstage in the Thomasville Municipal Auditorium Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. General admission tickets are available at Center Drugs in Cairo, Jan’s Hallmark store in the Gateway Center in Thomasville, at the school and at the auditorium before each performance. Prices are $10 for student tickets and $15 for adult general admission. Participating in the project in part of the set for New York City during the Depression are scenic artists Laura Dunaway Green (from left, front row), Sharon Clark Johnson, Scenic Art Designer Maureen Harrer, Maggie Flowers, Karen Stauffer; Peter Potter (from left, back row), Dr. Eugene Jarrett and Jeff Johnson.
