THOMASVILLE — Archbold officials reported Tuesday there have been 222 new COVID-19 positive test results over the last week, Over the past week, the system has had 846 new negative results. Seventy-one people were admitted to Archbold facilities in the last week for COVID-19.
The system record 13 deaths from COVID-19 in the last week.
As of Tuesday, there were 45 COVID-19 positive patients at Archbold Memorial Hospital. There were eight COVID-19 positive patients at Grady General Hospital, two at Brooks County Hospital and four at Mitchell County Hospital. There are no COVID-19 positive patients at Northside Center for Behavioral and Psychiatric Care.
Archbold also is reporting there are no COVID-19 positive patients at Glenn-Mor Nursing Home, Mitchell Convalescent Center or at Pelham Parkway Nursing Home.
The system also has administered 31,068 COVID-19 vaccine doses as of Tuesday.
Also as of Tuesday, 52 of the current 59 positive COVID-19 admissions have not been vaccinated. None of the 20 patients in critical care at Archbold facilities had been vaccinated and 11 patients on ventilators are unvaccinated.
Archbold is switching its vaccine operations to solely walk-in clinics every Wednesday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at Archbold Memorial Hospital’s Williams Auditorium. No appointment is necessary.
A vaccination clinic also will be held at the Bainbridge-Thomasville football game Friday night from 7:30 p.m. until halftime.
As of Tuesday, more than 18,420 Thomas County residents, 41% of the population, have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to the state Department of Public Health. More than 39,770 doses of vaccine have been administered to Thomas County residents.
Grady County has had more than 18,900 vaccines administered, with more than 8,710 people, 35% of the population, being fully vaccinated.
The state Department of Public Health reports there have been 5,362 COVID-19 positive tests in Thomas County, with 133 deaths. There also have been 432 people hospitalized because of the novel coronavirus since the inception of the outbreak.
Thomas County has recorded 596 new cases in the last two weeks, according to the state DPH.
The state DPH has recorded 2,109 COVID-19 cases in Grady County, with 60 deaths and 209 hospitalizations attributed to the virus. The county has added 142 new cases in the last two weeks.
Statewide, there have been more than 1.13 million confirmed positive tests for COVID-19, leading to 20,258 deaths and more than 74,700 hospitalizations.
More than 10.7 million people have been tested for COVID-19 in the state, with a rate of 10.4% for positive results.
Statewide, there have been 93,656 new COVID-19 cases in the last two weeks.
The state has issued more than 9.87 million vaccinations, and 44% of all Georgia residents, more than 4.6 million people, have been fully vaccinated.
