The Georgia Department of Public Health reports there have been 2,728 COVID-19 positive tests in Thomas County, with 83 deaths. There also have been 240 people hospitalized because of the novel coronavirus since the inception of the outbreak.
Thomas County has recorded 460 new cases in the last two weeks, according to the state DPH.
The state DPH has recorded 1,243 COVID-19 cases in Grady County, with 29 deaths attributed to the virus.
Statewide, there have been more than 642,000 confirmed positive tests for COVID-19, leading to 10,299 deaths and more than 44,700 hospitalizations.
More than 5.7 million people have been tested for COVID-19 in the state, with a rate of 10.7% for positive results.
